The bank is less than 100 ft high and mostly grassy some small exposures of sand stone and coarse shale afford plenty of Ammonites and other cretaceous fossils. The charts of this vicinity are poor, the bay leading to the Betcheroff village is clear except near the points of entrance where the foul ground extends well off.  The upper part of the bay is shoal for a couple of miles off the beach.  There is no conspicuous mountain recognizable as the one on the chart near the village, the mountains appear to
