walk up to the Apollo Consolidated Mine about three miles where we meet Capt. Hague B & P, go over the mine and I go round and see the works under guidance of Mr. Barstow. Take lunch with them, have a chat with the Dr. & Mr. Vincent. Return by the launch about 4 P.M. in a storm of wind & rain. Up anchor & go inside the inner harbor for better protection. Night blows hard in squalls with hard rain.
Wednesday Aug 7
Morning wind still fresh but a little more to the westward.  Dr. B. & P. go up again to the mine. I remain on board to write up notes &c.  The rock off entrance to Delaroff Harbor lies SE by E 3/4 E by compass from the middle of entrance to the lagoon & is visible at low water
