56 | Nov 25 1899 | Note: The slit was made wider after taking the Immersion, as something seemed to have happened to stop images on the first plate. An attempt was made to bring the star to the approx. centre of the wider slit, but as the star could not be seen in telescope, & a hasty examination does not show it on plate; it seems probable that dec. was moved the wrong way & thus moved the star out of the field, rather than bringing it nearer the centre of the slit.
