be a flock after all.

6:50 am. Well past second flock area. 8550 ft. [[red checkmark]] Single Yellowbelly flies by. Definitely alone.

Everything very quiet 7:00 am. Also getting dark. More than ever, it looks like rain is coming.

7:30 am. Weather getting better. Slight trace of sunshine. Much further along road. Slightly above 8600 ft. Come across a very large and diffuse mixed flock. In area low and [[underlined]] not [[/underlined]] very dense, obviously relatively [[underlined]] young [[/underlined]] second growth.

First part of flock seen is a group of at least 1 [[green checkmark]] [[underlined]] B [[insert,in purple]] 1 [[/insert]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] and 4 or 5 [[5 green checkmarks]] [[insert,in purple]] 2 [[/insert]] Synallaxis. All but 1 Synallaxis species LXXXXV. The other Synallaxis is generally dull brown all over. It may be a different species, or the young of LXXXXV. Synallaxis ranging from ground - 3 ft up. [[underlined]] B. nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] ranging from a few inches above ground - 3 ft up. All birds close together. All noisy. Some disputing among Synallaxis. Begins when one of the LXXXXV birds chases the dull brown individual.

Whitestripes [[underlined]] repeatedly [[/underlined]] f [[right arrow]] Cy. Whitestripe - Cy group moves on fairly rapidly. Synallaxis disappear from my view. But [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] apparently follows, repeatedly, the Cys and Whitestripes.

[[left margin in red and green]] Brun Cy 110 [[/left margin]]

Then Brun [[green checkmark]] [[insert,in purple]] 5 [[/insert]] j [[right arrow]] Cy. (This may be the same Brun seen earlier today or another individual). [[underlined]] Cy immediately makes an obviously hostile attempt to supplant Brun. [[/underlined]] Dashes at Brun. But the Brun doesn't budge. So Cy stops about 1" short. Then both birds fly off. A second later, I see a furious aerial chase. [[underlined]] Apparently [[/underlined]] Cy chasin
