SEE TODAY'S NOTES ON MIXED DIGLOSSINI

3:00 pm Arrive 7650 ft. Lower edge of USTF. Mixed fog and sunlight.

Almost immediately see what seems to be some sort of a mixed flock. Includes, 1 White-beard, [[checkmark]] [[insert,in blue]] 1 [[/insert]] 1 Slate-throated [[checkmark]] [[insert, in pencil and blue]] 2 2 [[/insert]] Whitestart, 1 small rufous [[checkmark]] [[insert,in pencil and blue]] 3 3 [[/insert]] flycatcher. (Can't tell if latter is the same species seen elsewhere in the Andes or not.) Also others. All visible inds. ranging 6 - 30 ft up in very mixed vegetation. Not going anywhere in particular. Rather diffuse. 10 - 35 ft apart. All very quiet.

A few minutes later, there suddenly are a [[underlined]] lot [[/underlined]] of birds around. Presumably main part same flock.

Now I see that group also includes another [[checkmark]] [[insert]] 4 [[/insert]] White beard, and another [[checkmark]] [[insert]] 5 [[/insert]] "Bright" Ruddy Flycatcher (Same species first individual - CXXV)

Also 2 [[two checkmarks]] [[insert]] 7 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 4 [[/insert]] Whitestarts. Definitely [[underlined]] not [[/underlined]] Slate throats. No. CXXVII. Was I wrong in my earlier identification of Slate throat? I [[underlined]] think [[/underlined]] so.

[[left margin in red]] Albi [[/left margin]]

Also 3 [[three checkmarks]] [[insert]] 10 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 5 [[/insert]] Cheek Atlapetes (CXXVI). At least 2 [[two checkmarks]] [[insert]] 12 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 6 [[/insert]] Synallaxis (same species). 1 [[male symbol]] [[checkmark]] [[insert]] 13 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 7 [[/insert]] Albi! 1 [[checkmark]] [[insert]] 14 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 8 [[/insert]] [[underlined]] luteoviridis [[/underlined] type. At least 1 [[insert,in blue]] 9 [[/insert]] Hemispingus type (White-stripe [[checkmark]] [[insert]] 15 [[/insert]] or [[underlined]] reyi [[/underlined]] ?). Flock is visited briefly by a single [[checkmark]] [[insert]] 16 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 10 [[/insert]] Zonotrichia. [[underlined]] Also [[/underlined]] a single White-tailed Hummingbird [[insert,in blue]] 11 [[/insert]] [[checkmark]] [[insert]] 17 [[/insert]] CXIX).

Now most of the birds are quite close together. The Atlapetes, Basileuterus, Hemispingus, [[underlined]] Zonotrichia [[/underlined]] and Albi
