Silent. Apparently alone.

10:25 am. Just a little further along road. See large, diffuse flock in low scrub on another slide. Includes at least [[insert,in blue]] 1 [[/insert]] [[6 checkmarks]] [[insert,in pencil]] 63 [[/insert]] [[underlined]] 6 [[/underlined]] Local Yellowbellies, 2 [[2 checkmarks]] [[insert,in pencil]] 65 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 2 [[/insert]] Cheek Atlapetes. All 1 - 4 ft up.

[[left margin in red]] Albi [[/left margin]]

Yellowbellies j [[right arrow]] Atlapetes. Group is also visited by 1 [[male symbol]] [[insert,in blue]] 3 [[/insert]] [[insert,in pencil]] 66 [[/insert]] Albi and 1 [[female symbol]] [[insert,in pencil]] 67 [[/insert]] Albi (at different times and in different places). And also 1 [[checkmark]] [[insert,in pencil]] 68 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 4 [[/blue]] Zonotrichia. Then I see that there is one [[insert,in blue]] 5 [[/insert]] [[checkmark]] [[insert,in pencil]] 69 [[/insert]] Sooty Thrush in scrub near Yellowbellies. Also 1 creeper [[checkmark]] [[insert,in pencil]] 70 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 6 [[/insert]] in nearby tree.

[[left margin in red]] Thalass [[/left margin]]

Then hear Whitestart CXXVII [[checkmark]] [[pencil]] 71 [[/pencil]] [[insert,in blue]] 7 [[/insert]] Song nearby.[[underlined]] Completely [[/underlined]] overlapped by distant Thalass Song.

Local Yellowbellies would seem to be more [[underlined]] auto- [[/underlined]] gregarious than other forms of [[underlined]] Anisognathus [[/underlined]].

NOTE: This may be (partly or largely) same large flock seen yesterday afternoon and earlier this morning.

Now see there is another [[checkmark]] [[insert,in pencil]] 72 [[/insert]] Cheek in adjacent edge USTF.

More Whitestart Song completely overlapped by Thalass.

Going a few feet further, into USTF, see that there are quite a lot of other birds around.

[[left margin in blue]] 7 [[/left margin]]

Include 2 [[2 checkmarks]] [[insert,in pencil]] 74 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 8 [[/insert]] "Brown Whitestarts" fly catching from ground. Get a good look at these birds. Certainly [[underlined]] not [[/underlined]] either Slate throat or CXXVII. Also 1 [[checkmark]] [[insert,in pencil]] 75 [[/insert]] [[insert,in blue]] 9 [[/insert]] Bright Ruddy, flycatching low and high. Also 1 [[checkmark]] [[insert,in pencil]] 76 [[/pencil]] [[insert,in blue]] 10 [[/insert]] Agriornis-type, high in tree. And [[5 checkmarks]] [[insert,in pencil]] 81 [[/pencil]] [[insert,in blue]] 11 [[/insert]] 5 or 6 small birds high in trees. Probably Euphonias.

[[left margin in red]] Thalass [[/left margin]]

I think that all these birds (except the Thalass) must be considered as belonging to the same diffuse but probably highly integrated flock - the flock of the area.

11:00 am. A little further on. See single [[checkmark]] [[insert,in pencil]] 82 [[/pencil]] Bright Ruddy

flycatching in usual place. There is a single Cheek [[checkmark]] [[insert,in pencil]] 83 [[/pencil]] on ground only a
