[[circled]] 22 [[/circled]] [[left margin in blue]] 43 [[/left margin]] white montane manakin, [[6 blue, 3 pencil checkmarks]] [[circled in pencil]] 4 5 [[/circled]] several flycatchers (different species), [[2 blue checkmarks]] [[circled in pencil]] 6 [[/circled]] 1 [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] Gold finch [[/underlined]] (looks like species on Chiriqui - yellow below, black above, [[left margin in green]] 44 [[/left margin]] [[left margin in red]] 42 [[/left margin]] with black throat), and [[circled in pencil]] 7 [[/circled]] [[1 pencil, 2 blue checkmarks]] one tree-creeper. All following the WM up a tree, 20 [[right arrow]] 30 ft above ground. All quiet. Then [[1 blue, 1 pencil, 1 red checkmark]] [[circled in blue]] 46 [[/circled]] WM flies over into low thicket. [[underlined]] Nothing follows. [[/underlined]] Then rest of group seems to break up. [[left margin in red]] 44 [[/left margin]] Some mintues later, a [[2 red, 2 blue checkmarks]] [[circled in blue]] 51 [[/circled]] pair of [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] passes thru nearby shrubbery. Moderately noisy. Nothing follows 12:20. Come across small group in small tree, 25 ft above ground. [[left margin in blue]] 46 IX HO 48 [[/left margin]] [[left margin in purple]] IX HO [[/left margin]] One [[1 pencil, 2 blue checkmark]] WM Atlapetes, 1 [[2 blue checkmarks]] White-spectacled Whitestart (definitely identified). Whitestart making fly-catching flights all around WM, in usual fashion. Once Whitestart f [[right arrow]] WM. Once WM f [[right arrow]] Whitestart Whitestart silent. WM begins to utter "Tit"s. Obvious alarm because of me. These "Tit"s apparently alert a [[4 blue checkmarks]] [[circled in blue]] 53 [[/circled]] pair of [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]]. They come to expect me. Utter lots of loud, harsh, "chuck" ALCN's. [[left margin in red]] 46 [[/left margin]] Then [[2 red checkmarks]] move on. They do [[underlined]] not [[/underlined]] join the WM - Whitestart group. The latter moves up into very tall tree, at least 40 ft above ground and I lose sight of them. This group is very close to where large group seen earlier this morning. Possibly WM and [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined] the same individuals. But the WM seen with flock of flycatchers, goldfinch, etc., almost certainly a different individual. [[left margin in red]] 47 48 49 Albi Cy [[/left margin]] Same WM [[1 red, 1 blue checkmark]] [[circled in blue]] 51 [[/circled]] back first tree a few minutes later. Silent. Definitely alone. Ignores Cy in tree 30 ft away. Cy [[1 red, 1 pencil, 1 blue checkmark]] [[circled in blue]] 55 [[/circled]] also silent and alone. 12:41. See single [[1 red, 1 pencil, 1 blue checkmark]] [[circled in blue]] 56 [[/circled]] [[male symbol]] Albi. Silent and alone. Feeding in same tangle of berry-carrying vine as the Cy seen earlier. At least twice tries to feed on berries. But apparently [[underlined]] unsuccessfully. [[/underlined]] Can't seem to
