  Arrive second station area 8:00 am. Clear. Sunny. No wind. Cool. Everything [[underlined]] very [[/underlined]] quiet.

8:10 am. See pair [[2 pencil 2 red 2 blue checkmarks]] [[circled in blue]] 26 [[/circled]] Yellowbellies. Quiet. Definitely alone. 10 ft up in AS. Fly off immediately.

Then hear quite a lot of thrush sounds down hill. Apparently Sooties. "Alarm" Notes Not Song

Then see a couple of Sooty Thrushes alone 12 ft up in AS

8:21. See single [[1 red 1 pencil 1 blue checkmark]] [[circled in blue]] 2 [[/circled]] Whitebearded Flycatcher. 1 ft up. AS edge rock slide. Quiet. Also definitely alone.

8:26. Just about same level as Teleferico station. See single [[circled in blue]] 3 [[/circled]] [[1 red, 1 blue, 1 pencil checkmark]] Glor. Silent and alone. 15 - 25 ft up in relatively tall AS scrub.

NOTE: There are few or no tubular red or pink flowers here now. But there [[underlined]] are [[/underlined]] melostome bushes with cup-shaped lavender flowers.

9:35 am. There really are [[underlined]] incredibly few [[/underlined]] birds up here at the upper limit AS. (Certainly, this is one of the reasons why there are so few mixed flocks.)

There seem to be more birds (goldfinches, etc.) in the Paramo itself.

10:03 am. About 75 ft below Teleferico station. See [[circled in blue]] 7 [[/circled]] [[4 blue 4 red 4 pencil checkmarks]] group [[underlined]] 4 [[/underlined]] PL Atlapetes. 2 - 3 ft up in low thick AS and blackberry brambles. Definitely alone. [[underlined]] Very [[/underlined]] quiet. Just soft "Tsit" Notes. Very [[underlined]] inconspicuous [[/underlined]] indeed!

10:14. See single Sooty Thrush. Silent and alone. 3 ft up AS

Getting cloudy now 10:16 am.

10:29. Some slight [[underlined]] trace [[/underlined]] of a mixed flock! 2 [[underlined]] Catamenias [[/underline]] (bill moderate size; head gray; some streaking both above and below) and 1 dull-brown Synallaxis-type. Moving together low in sparse scrub edge slide. Silent.
