Dear Sir:

In compliance with request contained in your letter of April 21, and the recommendation of the Head Curator of Biology, you are hereby granted a detail for a period of two months, commencing July 15, for the purpose of studying the crustacea of the Tortugas region under the auspices of the Carnegie Institution.

It is understood that the Museum will be placed to no expense in connection with this detail except for your salary, and I will ask you to so arrange the leave in your division that there will be no interference with the work.
