My dear Dr. Merriam, My attention has been called to a recent announcement in SCIENCE, January fourth, stating that the Tortuga Laboratory will be open next summer to a limited number of investigators. I should like very much to avail myself of that opportunity [[strikethrough]] to [[/strikethrough]] and spend a month or six weeks at the Laboratory for the purpose of studying and collecting the decapod crustacea [[strikethrough]] for the [[/strikethrough]] in preparation of a systematic-ecologic report of the [[strikethrough]] Tortuga [[/strikethrough]] forms represented in the Tortugas region.
