Capt B. assured me that he had had his feet thus brot. to comfortable temperature times without number. Capt. Tyson do. Capt. Quayles do. Mr. Sterry described the habits of the Esq. Said that they always (except some cases in travelling), "slept naked as when born," using skins of the deer & for coverings. Mr S. stated that he had slept between 2 Esq during the severest weather of the ^[[Arctic]] Winters & never in his life was more genially warm.

During the various times he lived with the Esq. never enjoyed himself better - or had better health.
