My Boat! Boat to Whale island - Dogs - Nowgens 
Boats out whaling - Whales seen Bas le Kash[[guess]] swimming after me & him return - [[crossout]]swm[[/crossout]] swum a [[insertion]] 1/2 [[/insertion]] mile!

[[underlined]] "Pe-ta-to" [[/underlined]], an old grey haired Esquimaux on board to-day declared her progeny to have been twenty five - all dead but 2!

Expressed it by throwing out both hands fingers & thumbs (all widely spread) [[underlined]] twice [[/underlined]] & one hand the 3d time thus making 25! This she declared positive to myself - to Capt. B. & Stenny. All had our doubts - a little enquiry established her story a myth except two children the only two she ever did have!

The Capt. & my trip to another island. The 5 Boats & crews. my return. Dinner at 3. all Boats in.

another Nowgen another Walrus another Seal & so on without end.

A capital joke! I showed her the "Cat's Cradle" - then turned it into a "See-Saw" having her place one part of the string in between her teeth the opposite [[insertion]] part [[/insertion]] fixed between mine, then giving a sudden draw with each hand [[strikethrough]] to which were attached. the string [[/strikethrough]] it brought our lips almost into [[strikethrough]] Contact [[/strikethrough]] Collision! This [[insertion]] pending [[/insertion]] catastrophy [[strikethrough]] howery [[/strikethrough]] however that was not very much to be dreaded as she is [[underlined]] good-looking, clearly, lady-like! [[/underlined]]
