Puk-er-ne-yer & Ar-nu-lik-er tuk show me their play things.  The care & assortment as complete as any little American girl's.

The patch work - different colors or shades of deer-skins sewed to-gether - the Northern mouse furs.  The little roll of silks, calico, ribbons &c nicely cared for.

The late return of the Sealers their success - 2 for the town. [[strikethrough]] The day [[/strikethrough]] Yesterday 6.  They proceede to strip Tuk too  jackets &c at once

The hot Seal supper in readiness - The distribution - Que-jes-se & Ebierbing & myself the participators.  The "drink" of the Seal Soup.  My sharpened appetites well favored - 

The supper ended the procedure to purchase deer-furs - the scarcity - get a jacket for a Knife.  The present of the piece raw Seal to me.  The departure - the purchase of two small skins in another Igloo, 1 Knife some powder - The call at the Angeko - purchase 1 deer skin for Powder Buck shot & caps - The impossibility of purchasing their winter clothing at any price - So of the best of what few skins they have. 1860 Fri Dec. 28th

Ship 10 o'clk night.  Ebierbing & I take a lunch & he departs for his Igloo.  By him I sent the Seal to Tuk-oo-li-to who has no meat provision on hand - She is a hard worker & but little to eat.

The natives of North Star Village caught 2 seals to-day - Good.

1860, Saturday Dec 29th

At an early hour, wife & daughter of Sampson & daughter of the other Innuit in same Igloo were on hand for what I promised.  They got more than they expected though not more than hoped for.
The Ange-ko was down & got his abundance for his skin.
Some of the Innuits out Sealing - Ice now good.  The shots with the double barrelled guns - mine prove the best.  Capt. B. a shot. - Called on Nukerton
