We are having a fall of snow. Last night a light snow fell.

Sampson (Koo-koo-ar-chu) & Nu-ar-che, my particular friends, of the upper village are down this Morn
I was glad as I always am to welcome them. They their nulianas (wives) & children are great favorites. I esteem them highly for their enterprise, kindly hearts & noble deeds! It is astonishing how strong are the golden links already binding me to the hearts of this most noble people!

It is is simply to show that God puts it in my heart to love this people - [[underlined]] to do what I can for them [[/underlined]]- to show that kindness begets kindness, love - love.

The communication I allude to above is from the noble Tuk-oo-li-too who freely consults me upon many important matters concerning her people. I [[strikethrough]] have [[/strikethrough]] expected Que-jes-se back to-day. It is now VI 1/2 o'clock eve & he has not yet come. He has 2 of Ugar's dogs [[strikethrough]] which [[/strikethrough]] whose return Ugar now awaits. The sledge was too heavily loaded! a good proportion of the things might have been left behind without discommoding anybody.

I found on my walking over to [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] NS village that Ebierbing had just returned with a sledge load for his dogs. He cut off a huge piece for me to give mine. In thrusting down the Seal spear into it I was astonished of the precision with which Ebierbing struck - but of perhaps 25 forcible thrusts not a miss of the same
