At 5 1/2 O'clock A.M. Lamb, Smith - Charley & Quejesse (the 2 latter Innuits) started off with the dogs & sledge to perform the works commenced yesterday. They go across "Rescue Bay" - divide the contents of the cask & take one portion of it & go on - depositing as near the land separating the Bay alluded to in yesterday's record & Frobisher Bay. If time will admit they are to return to said Cask & take over balance.
(The above written AM)

(IX Night) The above parties returned at IV this P.M. They were only able to carry one load, leaving it on the ice within 2 miles of the head of the Bay. They found the wind blowing so strong & cold that they could do no more. To-morrow, if the weather will admit, operations of carrying over Casks of provisions etc. by dogs & sledge will be continued.
