Fifteen minutes after 8 O'Clk this Morning 1st Mate Rogers with Quejesse, "Charley" (the last 2 Innuits) & Frank one of the forward hands started with dogs & sledge for the Walrus provision deposited on an arm of Frobisher Bay wh. extends far inland toward Rescue Bay. At three P.M. the announcement that Rogers & his company were returning - 10 minutes after they were along side. The load of Walrus was a large one. Most of it is for the dogs. The Walrus skin with a lining of Ook-sook (fat) is the best of dog food. The exciting time feeding up the dogs. Each man having his dog. We are having breakfasts & Dinners of Walrus, now a days.

At IX this Evening, Sharkey from "Budington Bay" arrived. He says that Ebierbing, Tuk-oo-li-too, Ugarny & Kunnia, also Oo-Kood-lear are coming. They have stopped near the Bluff where we made our 1st Igloo on our way up last year. These parties will arrive sometime to-morrow. I long to see my friend Innuits especially Ebierbing & Tuk-oo-li-too who have ever greatly befriended me.

To-day Sterry at the request of Capt. B. retopped & re-bottomed my Sextant Box.

This Eve the Aurora again.

At three an arrival of sledge drawn by dogs from Frobisher Bay. Soon after, Ebierbing & Ugarny's team hove in sight. These parties with their nulianas (wives) soon were with us. I am sure it is needless to say how happy I was to grasp my old friends once more by the hand.

Ebierbing & Tuk-oo-li-too I found to be quite well - tho' the latter has still that cough wh. she had when I left. This is from an exposure to cold air when she returned from the long tramp she took one day while I was up there over the Bay to get some things left by Ugarny on his way up from the vessel.

Ugarny looks thin - really this hard worker excellent Sealer is growing poor.

Kunnia has brought along the infant Menoun wh. recently lost its mother (Polly). Tuk-oo-li-too informs me that they have moved their things down the Bay not far from the place where we make the sea in going over from the vessel by the land route.

Much discussion has arisen lately among the officers relative to the question whether a silk handkerchief suspended by 2 corners can be shot through by a rifle ball? Capt B.
