I have sketched in column preceeding the general coast, making in red our track..
"A" Starting point
"B" The Flats - Natures Breakwater & relics & where we came across Ka-tow-yer
"C" Last point of land we reached for the purpose of quenching thirst & a lunch
"D"." Where [[strikethrough]] we [[/strikethrough]] we expected to find the settlement
X The ^[[place]] Seals wh. Katowyer endeavored to secure.
4 PM we reached point "C" making land for water. From B. found the travelling good & made rapid progress. As we were late, I could not survey the coast as I intended. When we got upon the Point "C", Wind S.E. & flowing fresh -
Bearing of point "O" by Compass 172[[degree symbol]]
Bearing of point "D" from "C" 14[[degree symbol]]
On point "C" [[strikethrough]] we [[/strikethrough]] we rested for 15 minutes found the Sun had prepared us a rock basin of water sufficient to quench our burning thirst. Kin-gaite loomed up in grandeur - its miles of pinnacled mountains facing us [[underlined]] boldly! [[/underlined]]
On passing from "C" to "D.", I paced the distance & found it to be seven & 256/1000 miles (Nautical)
{[[4 vertical lines with perpendicular line through denoting total of '5'. Total 46]] = Each mark rep. 100 the product to be multiplied by 4 & that by 2,4 the result will be feet wh. divided by 6076 feet in Nautical mile will be miles & Decimals.}
After leaving Point "C" & making distance [[vertical lines with perpendicular line through equalling 9]], I sighted President's Peak (Temple P.) which bore by Az. C 56°; travelling on the course 14°, for the distance [[vertical lines with perpendicular line through equalling 19]] I again sighted & found President's Peak to beare 58[[degree symbol]], this, of course, giving the distance across the Bay of Frobisher at that Point.

At 5 O'clock a most important communication was made to me wh. coroborated the opinion I was forced to form as I travelled from Point C to D. This communication was from Kok-er-jab-in who I found free to communicate whatever she thought would interest me & add to my knowledge of the Bay before me. My eyes during the day were mostly on the mountains of Kin-gaite ("Meta Incognita") What specially attracted my attention was [[underlined]] a high Ice-ridge [[/underlined]] running parrellel with the coast uniting mountain after mountain - peak after peak into one!
[[image: drawing of mountains and bay annotated GLACIERS! KIN-GAITE, ICE, Part of Frobisher Bay]]
[[underlined]] (Mountains of this character extend 60-70 miles) [[/underlined]]
The communication [[strikethrough]] related [[/strikethrough]] related to my enquiry as to the long line or ridge running over the mountains uniting them as above. If it was [[underlined]] constant - Ice? [[/underlined]] Kok-er-jab-in said that she had never known it to change in appearance - that it looked the same through Summer & Fall as now! - [[underlined]] that it was Solid Ice! [[/underlined]]
So here are [[underlined]] Glaciers! [[/underlined]] Everlasting as the mountains of Rock which they lock together! From appearance I should think they ^[[(the G.)]] extend 15 to 20 miles.
