As we arrived at this shore ice, met a party of Innuits with sledge & Team of dogs that were on their way yo the vessel havng just come from above the Island: (one day's journey above) Ak-koo-wie-shut-too-ping where I made a stop with Sampson[[??]] in my late journey up the Bay This party consisted of: (Winga) Chi-men-an-chu ("John Bull") (Nuliana) Kuk-ev-zhun ("Nancy") New-wrn-Chee father of my pretty An-nu-tith-erating Kol-ling-oo, nuv-le-a son of Uu-soo-kan-loo whose other wife i Auk-Chung-nung The [[strikethrough]] two [[/strikethrough]] first 2 were being brough with their Tupik & adjuncts with the object of [[??]] [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] at the vessel or at og-birn-see-o-ping The latter (2) expectant to venture to where other Innuit Koo-cher-an-chor (Sampson) now are, near Que-ine- The report they co-jointly made was: That I would find it utterly impossible to proceed to the head of Tu-nuk-jok-ping-goosse-ong (Frobisher Bay) by means of dogs & sledge, as the distnace they had come was done [[strikethrough]] [[??]] [[/strikethrough]] under great labor & doubtful circumstances & as much of the ice they had passed over the day preceding this had drifted away sea-ward.
