Bay & Rescue Bay [[insertion]] My view [[/insertion]] Thence away up to the head of our Bay taking in Cyrus M. Field Mountain & Grinnell Mountain thence down to our harbor backed by Budington Mount. [[insertion]] Before us too, was the immortal Rescue! [[/insertion]] My first supper was on board & of the same seal. Ebirbing & Tukoolitoo sent immediately on the return of the "great Sealer" a dish of the Seal's liver & meat for our Cook to serve up for the G. H's present Co. (of 3) for supper.

The weather at this hour is not good - but by morning [[insertion]] there [[/insertion]] may be a change for the better. My Innuit company will take along my rifle & one double-Barrel-gun for Seals & Polar Bears. Ebirbing thinks we shall find the latter plenty. The trip will be an exciting one without doubt. I hope the geographical determinations of the land I am about to visit will prove satisfactory. Much will depend on the weather. If I can have good Sun, my bearings shall be numerously Solar.
