[[/boxed]] are anxious to get something for us - & Capt. if you want Mr Rodgers to put the blubber in the cask send the Mincing Knives over by "Yo" [Ebierbing] ^[[H]] for there are no harnesses here for the dogs. The ice was all good all the way down to the crossing as far as I could see, for I followed the edge of the flows down to where we went in with the schooner. It has broken straight across to [[strikethrough]] where [[/strikethrough]] there. We saw one [Whale] close in & another 3 or 4 miles out spouting but could not get off with the boats the ice is so close packed for 4 or 5 miles. There is plenty of clear water on the other side [Frobisher Bay] H. Capt. send the boy back as quick as possible for we want him to go in the boat as soon as the ice goes off. I hope the next time to send you [[strikethrough]] some [[/strikethrough]] a piece of "Black Skin". Captain - Koo-jes-se wants some tobacco & Charles [Koo-per-ne-ung] wants some more shot & caps if [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] you are willing to send them, & Mr R. wants you to send one man for his boat, & "John Bull" to go in Koo-jes-se's boat. This is Monday & the ice is stacking up a little. Wind N.E. I am afraid that I shall chafe my boat a great deal here in the ice. Sterry wants some shot. The natives shot two rein-deer yesterday - so that is about all that I can think of. R.L. Hiram ^[[(E-e-ee-u-ar-ping)]] says he saw an Ook-gook on the ice & could have shot it if he had had a gun with him. Tuesday July 16 1861 AM 40[[degree symbol]] - 28,575 N.E. Light Thick fog M 46[[degree symbol]] 28,600 N.E. " [[ditto for: Light]] Cloudy - fogy P.M. 36[[degree symbol]] 28,600 N.E. " [[ditto for: Light]] Strong - fog. This Morning at IX Capt. B started off Ebierbing with ^[[his (E's)]] Dogs & sledge to Budingtonville with such articles as Lamb sent for. The 2 Natives who came up yesterday returned with [[strikethrough]] him [[/strikethrough]] Ebierbing. Compared Chros.
