Kood-loo & young Smith took Ebierbing's dog-team & went out sealing this Morning & returned at IV P.M. with two seals that the Innuit (K) shot.  They found seals very numerous on the N.W. side of the Bay. This has been a hot day here - dogs with mouths open & tongues out breathing hotly & quickly while the four of us have been sunning with jackets off. Ther. at Noon 78[[degree symbol]]. Whew! & ice bound to Rescue Bay!
Capt. B. is expecting to send ^[[within 48 hours]] a Boat's crew with Boat over the ice to open water thence to Lupton Straits, Bear Sound & Budingtonville for the object of conveying provisions for the portion of the Ship's company there Whaling & to learn the News. I have volunteered to be a serviceable man of this trip.
Some how I had it in mind yesterday Morn that the company at Budingtonville had been successful. So possessed was I that I spoke it out to Capt. B. that when he heard from there it would be that two Whales had been secured - Let us - "Witch-Ou"!

Tomorrow morning by 3 o'clock the company indicated ^[[in yesterday's journal]] start for the Bay of Frobisher. I am one of those intending to go. We return by Wednesday night if weather & ice permit. God ruling the elements & all else.
to-night I went over to Whale Island with Kood-loo, his noo-loo-an'a, Suzy ( ) Tuk-oo-li-too Oo-kood-lear & brought my instruments including Chro. aboard
