Compass (Ook-gook seen & followed just as we landed before Noon) Seal! Stop to watch! General (run on trend) of Channel is 1/2 between N.W. & N. S.E. & S. Returned! Koo-jes-se had my rifle - all three Innuits in Indian file - the careful march all three aim & fire at once - the Seal rolled off the rocks dead. I hastened to boat & with the 3 ladies (?) took it to the spot - a search among the sea forests tide sweeping past the spot had swept the Seal away.
