At X AM Ki-a along side.
My good friend As-tark-pa-ru was the one in it. We had a warm meeting. His is father of Tu-nuk-de-lien nooliana of Koo-jes-se both of my crew. I stopped the Boat & the old man on my request drew up along side (lar-bord side) of our boat & made fast to the gunwale with his hands. It will be recollected that As-tark pa-ru is an invalid having almost lost the use of his nether limbs by some complaint in his thighs. But he is of the Working sort of stuff. He goes out every day sealing Ducking & to capture Walrus & Oak-juke. In winter he goes out by means of Dogs & sledge, sits by a seal hole & is as successful as any other Innuit.
At X-45 AM made Cape "Opera Glass" - a few minutes before drew up to the shore & took aboard Koo-jesse with my rifle. He had tramped it over mountains since yesterday except a while last night he took a See-nik-poo (sleep). Had seen Took-too but could not get a shot at one.
As we drew up to said Cape Compass in hand I made for the Mount ([[symbol: Sun]] marked) & took following bearings.

(Obs. from top Opera Glass Cape)
7th encampment Az C.) 189°
Spot of Obervations while at 7 Enct 186°
Bearing of Cape of Obs on the day P.M. of making 7th Enc. 163.5

On making these obs. I descended the opposite side from wh. I went up & made for the Boat wh. had rounded the Cape & was in wait for me. On getting fairly in the Boat & ready to start, missed my Marion or Opera glass. I at once left the Boat & tugged up the precipitous mount again.
At 12-20 P.M. we started again from Cape "Opera Glass". Artark-pa-ru was boat steerer Koo-per-neu-ung having taken Ki-a & gone on sealing. 12-35 we [[?head]] the natives at the village where Artarkparu & load demonstrations of joy at our approach.
