Thence on E. side as far up as I can see, there is a ridge of mountains the base of said Mts. being just by a [[strikethrough]] plain [[/strikethrough]] strip of low grass land along the river's side. I will try & spend a day or two in following up this beautiful river. Two portages within the 1st 2 miles from the sea being made, a boat [[strikethrough]] according [[/strikethrough]] for aught I can see might be used in going up for many miles. Compass from Place of Ob. West side river on a bluff by the bend Head of 2d falls. This then 139° is main course of the river to its entrance to F. Bay By Az. (12th) I picked up the vertebra of a salmon the same measuring 21 inches & a pice of the tail end gone at that. From the place obs. on West side river (up) is a plain of 1/4 to 1/2 mile wide covered with grass. Ag-le-e-tung name of spot on small Island on wh. is our Enc. Tu-nu-zhug the Cape proper - on the hill is an Innuit monument (or mark) Suk-shu-Kong Island West 1/2 Mile off Ek-ar-loo-ing Cape E (the other side of [[strikethrough]] Cynthia [[/strikethrough]] Sylvia Grinnell River.
