(11 1861 Aug 29 Thurs 13 Enc 21 Day Out Distances, Courses Lat &c [[end page]] [[start page]] (12 1861 Aug 29 Thurs 13th Enc 21 Day Out On making land at this (our 13th Enc.) all hands as usual commenced unloading boat the lady portion acting as is the custom of this Country as pack horses in conveying everything belong to tupik arrangement up the steep rocks beyond the reach of tide - where they proceede selecting suitable spot, & erecting tupik thereon. A few moments later than our arrival - with the "Stars & Stripes" of my country in one hand, spy-glass & note book in the other - the latter (Note Book) I did not (however) happen to have - forgetting it - I made way to the mountains' tops.
