on the rocks that overlook the head of Frobisher Bay from this side of the Cape where I took Obs for Lat on the day of leaving 12th Enc. to the Point or place where we now are.
But I must begin at the beginning -
This morning was sorry to find a continuation of cloudy, thick weather. But God makes the Weather, therefore we mortals [[underlined]] must know [[/underlined]] that it is all for the best.

Sighting at 14th Encamp.
Bearing by Az. Compass of Island
Point by Channel through wh. we last eve passed = 154°

Before I could bring Compass to base on on land at the right hand side of said Channel it was closed in by Fog!
Now (VIII AM) on the plain top of sand, shingle & rock Bank (Kin-gaite side). This plain extends along the coast by 14th Enc. Some of its distance at the base near water edge, long banks of snow. The plain covered with luxuriant vegetation - & stone (Boulders). The plain extends back at one point 1/4th to 1/3d mile. Many little streams flow down along the plain. Dogs eat bluberries! One now by me going from place to place seeking them. Finding them as either dog or man can all around him: he proceeds to pick & eat them. Of course dog-picking is with the teeth direct!
Every place a few fathoms off [[?envelopped]]

in Fog! Fog!
The ground here everywhere having unmistakable signs of the very numerous Rein-deer abounding in this region. Meeting with Koo-jes-se we proceed in company [[underlined]] blueberry [[/underlined]] ([[space]]) & picking.
On our return to tupiks I was invited by my kind friend Twer-oong to a breakfast on [[underlined]] the Goose! [[/underlined]] I accepted & proceeded to make good breakfast No2 of this Morning. Innuits have but one way of Cooking - by boiling. But the Goose nevertheless, was good - very tender & rich.
As I sit now here on the spot of 14th Enc. by the Sand, shingle & Rock Banks wh. is about 1 mile long, facing Frobisher Bay, my view is very limited. Even if fog were away it would be bounded nearly around by the numerous Islands that are near. The Islands one of of wh. I visited yesterday with one close by 14th Enc. limits view S.E. - a long, low Island (or group in appearance [[symbol: north arrow]]) one mile
