(4 1861 Sept 1st + [[symbol: Cross]] 15th Enc. 24th Day Out limits the view E & N.E. while at the N. the Head of Frobisher Bay lands ends it there. Of course from the [[strikethrough]] left [[/strikethrough]] right hand side of the channel leading to the 14th Enc. to a mile above here the view is a ridge of mountains of Kin-gaite. The 'sand, shingle & Rock Bank' is a new thing to me here N. From the base of this Bank there extends out from 300 to 1/4 mile an inclined plain covered with huge rocks Sand & Mud - & shingle. This is [[underlined]] covered at full tide. [[/underlined]] At [[underlined]] low water [[/underlined]] many shoals all around head of Frobisher Bay are exposed. In fact [[underlined]] to navigate simply our Boats to Ag-goun we have been obliged to await for high water. [[/underlined]] There extends from base of 'Sand, Shingle & Rock Bank' a drift of snow - call it 'Ice-foot' if one will - 3/4 mile in length some places by water's edge 15 feet deep. Its age may be a century or more. General trend of Sand shingle & Rock Bank S.S.E. & NNW (true) Just as we are about to start for Ag-goun I sight each side Channel the fog having lifted at little = Rt hand side looking toward Channel - 149° Left " " " " " [[dittos for: hand side looking toward Channel]] - 152° 1/2 [[end page]] [[start page]] (5 1861 Sept 1st + [[symbol: Cross]] 15th Enc. 24th Day Out Point Peak, small Mt of Headland 1 mile up in Course to Ag-goun 314° Ning-u-ar-pin & nooliana with child remain at 14th Enc. during the time of our intended visit to Ag-goun. He has his Ki-a. With this for sealing & the Took-too hunting that he will prosecute, they will get along right well. Koo-jes-se without saying one word to me about it I find has gone on over the Mountains Took-too-ing. Also Koo-per-neu-ung has taken Ki-a or Mr. Miner & proceeded ahead sealing. Not one word was said to me of his going till we were proceeding to strike tupiks & get in readiness to start. Thus it is I am constantly annoyed by this Free(?) & Independent(?) people! I hope when I take another Voyage of this Kind I shall have have Civilized auxilliaries - at least enough
