Monday, Sept. 2d 1861

AM  S.E.  Light.  Cloudy - rain this Morn - a little

{Now by the "Falls" up the river} "Look-around Point".
This Morn after our breakfast was dispatched or rather while finishing it, Took-too were seen.  They my hunters on the plains the other side of the river.  This put an end to everything else so with Ki-a they crossed river & surrounded rein-deer (two).  A few minutes only elapsed after their crossing before the reports of 2 guns were heard by us, the female portion of my crew & myself.  On making the rise or slight eminence flanking the tupiks, soon saw them at work on the two wh. they had shot.  (Two other rein-deer were near but escaped)
This Morning, I told Koo-jes-se if he would accompany me for four days, I would give him half a bag of shot & 1/2 roll (wh. is 500) Percussion Caps.  I told him I wished
