A.M.  S.E.  Fresh  Rain - rain all last night
M.    S.E.  Mod.  Rain now & then
P.M.  S.E.  Mod.  Rain.

A sleepless night - & a painful one of course.  As I anticipated, the abscess on my shoulder has become worthy of notice & nursing.  It is enflamed.  I must abide its demands.
Last night constant droppings on my head bedding - on every thing within.  Decidedly a wet community - the one now in our 15th Enc.  Tho' I dislike the record, yet facts must be stated - last night I was - & to-day I am - [[underlined]] sick. [[/underlined]]  Nearly all the day long have I been down on my took-too bed.  Occasionally I have imagined what I would like in way of supplying the 'in-man'.  Finally thought of my "American Pudding".  I soaked
