The boat was directed [[strikethrough]] not direct [[/strikethrough]] ^[[to]] [[strikethrough]] for [[/strikethrough]] the Island;  but in such a way, that due allowance being made for [[strikethrough]] making tot [[/strikethrough]] rushing tide [[strikethrough]] that would [[/strikethrough]] ^[[to]] take us down some distance, the boat would if we succeeded in doing what ^[[was]] designed, make into a little bight [[in blue]] ^[[bight or cove]] [[/in blue]] [[strikethrough]] between the ledge of the [[/strikethrough]] in the Island.
The trial for Island was [[underlined]] commenced & continued [[/underlined]] [[double underlined]] ^[[& concluded!]] [[/double underlined]] - as the bow of the boat struck into the current next the Island.
