An-nn-ar-ping gave me a call this morning presenting me with a generous piece of Ood-nook in some places this rein deer tallow 2 1/2 inches thick.
The same kind of luxurious present was given me a few minutes after by old Allokee- & also by Mr Miner ([[space]])
"Mr. Miner" & balance of his party returned at IX A.M. from one of the Islands opposite side of Bay where they spent yesterday & the night. They stopped here at our (16th) Enc. only one hour striking tupiks & packing everything into the Boat for proceeding to an island on left hand side channel going down or out of the harbor. By the by this harbor [[underlined]] would be a harbor [[/underlined]] indeed if it had proper depth to it & entrance were of like character but when tide was out tonight or toward eve the whole bottom was left waterless.
Koo-per-neu-ung took the 3 ladies out with him walking dry shod

nearly across the middle of the harbor for the object of searching for the [[underlined]] Ook-gook [[/underlined]] he shot from Ki-a with my rifle just as tide began to fall. The Ook-gook sunk & was probably swept out with falling tide.
Koo-jes-se & Kood-loo not yet returned
Twer-oong I find as I meet her this morn quite low - had a terrible night of it. She says Miner has killed 2 Took-too on the island across the harbor since coming down from Ag-goun. Twer-oong in departing from Ag-goun came & said to me: 'Good bye - [[underlined]] [[?Smalley]]' [[/underlined]] in American - that is 'Good bye for short time - one day - as you are to follow on to-morrow.' She is very kind & affectionate to me. Could not be more so if she were my mother.
