(21 [[note]] 21 Pages this Day's Record [[/note]] 1861 Sept 10 Tues 16th Enc 5th day 33 Day out Found that a short time after I left the tupiks for my tramp that the 3 Innuit ladies saw a large Polar Bear just back of the 16th Enc. making his way slowly along the mountain's side by the Harbor toward the upper Channel. [[underlined]] Here, [[underlined]] then has been game of rank No1 for the Men Innuits had they been here. Kood-jes-se & Kood-loo felt quite disappointed that they did not arrive back a little sooner. Soon as I arrived & got fairly on my took-too bed, (wh. is my seat ([[underlined]] flat-down [[underlined]]) in doing all my writing) 1st Kood-loo & then Koo-jes-se came, each bringing a slab of Tood-noo as presents to me. Gale Last night another severe Snow storm coming from S.E. This continued till 11 A.M. when wind shifted to N.W. All of 3 1/2 inches snow has fallen in this time.
