moss - or under a stone - under whatever there happens to be [[underlined]] at the exact spot where the deer was shot! [[/underlined]] On 2 occasions have I noticed this feature. They cut off a bit of the paunch - the same of the nose - of the meat skin Oodnoo &c &c - finally I asked one of them if that was always practiced by all the Innuits when they kill Took-too & they answered seriously that it was so - [[underlined]] & always had been so! [[/underlined]]
By the By Miner shot a wolf (Ar-mark-ko) of huge dimensions on the Kin-gaite side 2 or 3 days before we (my party) left 16th Enc. It will be recollected that the other party went down a little way several days before we left 16th Enc.
As we passed from the Island (where I made Ob took sights with Compass only about Meridian). Saw the 1st Ice-berg near 19th Enc. No ice in F. Bay above the line of Islands of wh. Ki-Ki-tuk-ju-a is the head.
High waves "white caps" - boat shipping much water were some of our experiences coming from said Island this P.M.
The "spiritual-tail-like" scene this afternoon when "Susy" got the tail of her jacket soaked with seawater that overleaped the side of the Boat - the tail thrown over on her back she lying on a bundle of took-too skins sunning it! - tho sick could not help a hearty laugh!
