Tuk-oo-li-too stooped down, & by her hand & fingers tried to show me what shape it was. I took a musket Ball from my pocket & asked her if she thought it was like that? She replied: 'Yes'. Then it must be a Cannon Ball, or rather a Ball of lead - of size equivilent to a very large Cannon Ball.

She consented if he would promise not to let it go further. As I was about to bid her 'Good night' I asked her if she had enough to eat? She said she had nothing to-day to eat but pemican. I asked her why Ebierbing did not tell Capt B. when his bread was all gone? She said that sometimes he (E) does not like to tell him. By the bye, I carried over a dish of baked beans to T. to-day. She was about starting to go for water, a distance over rocks, ice & snow, over 1/2 mile off, carrying her young babe in her hood & she quite feeble. I told her that I would go & get it for her. She would not consent. I then told her that I would get "Susy" (Koo-ou-le-arny)
