to go & get the water - & on her return to make tea for her (Tuk-oo-li-too). Soon "Susy" came in. I asked her if she would go & get (inmy) water for Tuk-oo-li-too & make her ik-ku-mer (fire) & make her (T) some tea? She said 'Ee' (yes) I then told "Susy" I would give her some to-bacco (Susy smokes & chews!) Tuk-oo-li-too is sick. She had changed so much since my departure on the trip to Head of Frobisher Bay that on my return I hardly knew her. I am sure she has not half enough of the right kind of food to eat. She is accustomed to fresh meat - Seal &c. but she gets hardly any - Ebierbing being employed constantly in the service of the "George Henry". She (T.) made the remark to me that she felt that she should not live long - & burst into tears. proper Season for Took-too, by wh. to supply himself & family with Winter dresses - clothing. I gave Tuk-oo-li-too & Ebierbing my two large Took-too skins (with fur on) which I brought of "Miner" & used as a bed on my trip up F. Bay. I told them I would give them powder, shot &c with wh. they could trade for other Took-too skins & thus make themselves comfortable this winter. How thankful they are to have this.
This P.M. gave to Tu-nuk-de-lien & Ak-chook-er-[[?churg]], presents of beads - also same kind to "Susy" (Twer-oong) & to the other "Susy" (Koo-ter-ne-ung). I believe my Frobisher Bay trip obligations are now all cancelled.

The remark of Tuk-oo-li-too about Ebierbing's poor health - & asking me what I thought of it about his going to America to stay this Winter! Leaving her & infant! Something I could & cannot fathom.

Aurora to-night. [[underlined]] Four Whales seen by the natives [[/underlined]] - Came near one, had not the wind been so strong would have struck one - so natives say.
