(4) 1861 Oct 3 Thurs. [[image: drawing of hand with index finger pointing to text]] Continuation of Interview with Artarkparu - from 7th line preceeding on (3) page. "1 Rigsbank Skilling, 1818" (Copper) was then put into Ar-tark-pa-ru's hand - & into his other hand a Knife - with a request that he (A.) should test that (the coin) by cutting it. Instantly on chipping off a slight portion from the edge & giving it a short look, he said: [[underlined]] 'that is like to it'! [[/underlined]] Capt. B & myself are now quite satisfied that [[underlined]] the relic is Copper! [[/underlined]] I hope to determine the fact by securing this relic in a few days. Perhaps there is some inscription on this relic! It may be the 5 men (Kod-lu-narrs) who built the ship on "Kod-lu-narr", left this Time [[underlined]] enduring [[/underlined]] metal covered with a brief history of their experiences & purposes while living here North!! [[underlined]] Be it of what nature it may, if evidently is a relic thus ought to be secured & preserved. [[/underlined]] Now 20 minutes of IX A.M. With the assistance of Capt. B. in talking with Ar-tark-pa-ru have just engaged him (A.) to go with me (to be gone 7 or 8 days) to Oo-pung-ne-wing, Ni-oun-te-lik, Kod-lu-narr, Kussegeerarkjua &c. Now for balance of crew - & to-morrow - [[underlined]] Start! [[/underlined]]
