" " " [[dittos for: Fresh Very Cloudy]] Last night a light fall of snow. The land all about put on its winter dress some time ago. It is doubtful had I continued on to Oo-pung-ne-wing if I would have been able to find that important relic on account of the snow that must now be covering the Island. This morning boats off cruising for whales. Capt. B. yesterday suggested that it is possible no more whales will be seen here - that the scent from trying out the [[?troo]] (oil of wh. has just been stowed away) - & the noise attending it may have driven them off. According to purpose I must go ashore & continue my work suggested in record of last evening.
