The officers say that the whale taken to-day is the largest yet obtained on this voyage. It is a "cow" whale - (supposed be with young) - & nearly ready to "calve".
It is left anchored for to-night down the Bay nearly to the entrance to "Rescue Bay" North side.
Ugarny with his two wives & child - [[?Chimerarcha]] & his wife little Ookoodlear left this morning in Boat for Budington Bay.
The night is a fine one, calm & enlightened by the moon wh. fulls to-morrow - the sky nearly cloudless. Ice making fast. The Aurora to-night in all it wanted glory - as if striving to out shine Queen of Night.
