"Remarks, Sunday Aug 3d.  Fore part of this day wind light & buffetling with cloudy
"weather.  Latter part fresh breeze from S.W. with rain.  Ice wearing
"away slow!
"Remarks, Monday Aug 4th - These 24 hours wind light & buffling with cloudy
"weather.  The open water 6 miles from the ship with heavy ice between.
"Remarks, Tuesday Aug 5th - Fore part of this day wind light & buffling with
"thick weather - latter part stormy breezes from the Westward.  Ice wearing away ^[[slow.]]
"Remarks, Wednesday Aug 6th - these 24 hours strong breezes from the Westward with clear
"weather.  The ice in the Bay thick & heavy as yet.

"the crew to come on board.  The ice breaking up fast - fresh breeze

"Remarks, Friday Aug 8th - Fore part calm & clear & All hands come on board
"to-day. Latter part wind light from the Southward.

?&towed out of harbor.  Latter part wind light S.E. &
"for.  11 P.M. made fast to the ice
"Remarks Sunday Aug 10th - These 24 hours fast to the ice - wind light
"E.N.E. & thick fog 12 P.M. cast off.
"Remarks Monday Qug 11th Fore part light breeze from S.E. & thick
"fog - 8 AM light from the Westward - working through the
