Tupik & called 'Yo! Yo!' shaking the one who I supposed was "Yo." (Ebierbing). Tukoolitoo entered at the moment & said that one was trying awaike was not "Yo" tho she was not aware of it till the time the dogs broke in. I soon found Kood-loo was the sleeping object before me - that Ebierbing & Kood-loo [[underlined]] had exchanged positions [[/underlined]] for the night, the former sleeping with "Jennie", the latter with Tuk-u-li-too. This in accordance with Innuit customs. After calling Ebierbing up at Kood-loo's Tupik & Ugarng from his I went upon the Ex of Cape & took several bearings. Late last night Ebierbing concluded to attach his dogs to Ugarng's team & go with us to Og-bier-see-o-ping.
After breakfast & was preparing to start was surprised to find that Ugarng was going to take along his wife Kun-ni-u & child [[?menorn]] - & Ebierbing his wife & child. It seemed as if I was [[underlined]] fated [[/underlined]] to have big Company of Innuits whenever I undertook a journey. However in this case it did not prove a draw-back for I had one sled to myself , Ebierbing my [[underlined]] sleeping [[/underlined]] dog driver. I say sleeping dog-driver for the fellow slept much of the time on my trip here. The casks wh. were brought here 1 year ago (this last winter) by sledge are being taken over to Rescue Bay, the intention being that when the ice leaves that Bay to float them to the vessel. This (Bay of Frobisher) completely free of ice - save in a few scattering bergs - [[?scarce pieces]].
This PM found out through the Innuits Koo-ou-le-arng (Susy) & her new wing-a "Miner" where [[underlined]] Kun-nook-too-ju-a [[/underlined]] is.
Tuk-oo-li-too my interpreter. It is the Bay by Toong-wine & Ming-u-toon, the Bay wh. I explored after making 3d Enc. near Ming-u-toon. This place, "Kun-nook-too-ja-a" that has the monument erected by Kod-lu-nars (white men) [[underlined]] long time ago [[/underlined]].

During the day Bay of Frobisher been almost in a rage from the strong wind that has presented. This PM took Sun obs &C. (see Log.) Expect to start back to-morrow morning. I have concluded what I hope will prove to be effective arrangements with Ebierbing to accompany me to Oo-kood-lear [[?]] return. As Capt. B. requires all the dogs about here to convey Cooks oven the Rescue Bay I have not attempted to secure any from the quarter. All attempts to get Whales have ^[[this season]] are now abandoned.
