I label these relics & shall preserve them with great care. Lead is an additional material to my already acquired number of relics of Frobisher's Expedition of 1576-7 & 8.
I now have relics of Iron, Sea-Coal, Fling-Stone, Brick, Lead, Cement, Charcoal, glazed-tile & Wood. I may yet be able to find relics of other material in a few days, as I now await Ebierbing's arrival to accompany me with team of dogs to Countess of Warwick's Sound where I shall continue careful research on the Island Kood-lu-narn, swing freely the pick-axe in & around the banks thereon up by the White Men who excavated the Ship's & Reservoir trenches there. The Ship trench was dug out of nearly solid rock. In it the 5 white men lost by Frobisher ^[[on his first voyage North]] built a schooner.
Ook-sin brought quite a large piece of Ook-gook meat & gave me. I made him ample return for it - & for the relics he so kindly & subtly brought me. The musket Ball was carefully done up in several thicknesses of paper & well tied up showing the caution the Innuits have exercised to preserve this relic from abrasion & scratches.
Ook-sin brought wood that old An-na-wa desired a few nails with wh. to repair his large boat. I sent him some accordingly. Gave Ook-sin Box (250) per. Caps & a small file - sent Annawa's wife paper needles & gave Ook-sin 1 paper, same for his lady,
At IX-30 AM Ook-sin started back. Told him that I should be over there, I expected in 2 or 3 days - Said he would pilletay (give) me as much Ook-gook &c as I wanted. Ook-sin said that yesterday Shevek-koo killed a large Ook-gook. An-na-wa a young one & Ken-tuk-ne-ung also a young ook-gook making three secured in one day.

This PM Chi-min-ar-chu ("Johnny Bull") arrived aboard. He was alone - came afoot. He came down from Oo-kood-leur yesterday with Koo-loo & stopped last night where Ebierbing & Kood-loo have their families. He says that Ebierbing did not start for Og-bier-seer-o-ping till [[strikethrough]] last night [[/strikethrough]] near [[strikethrough]] noon [[/strikethrough]] Meridian to -day. Kood-loo had the dogs & sledge on his (K's) trip to Oo-kood-lear. Consequently it will be 2 or 3 days before I can get to "Countess of Warwick's Sound." These Innuits cannot be depended upon. I am right glad to learn
That old Oo-ke-jox-y-ni-noo was brought down from Oo-kood-lear by Kood-loo. This will give me another opportunity of having a "talk" with her about Frobisher's Expedition here - of 5 men - of the ship built by them - of Kod-lu-narn & all relating thereto. It will be recollected that this old Innuit woman is the one who 1st communicated to me the historical matters relating to ships coming into Bay of Frobisher a great many years ago - of many matters that corresponded remarkably with written history.I mean to have some good "talks" with her before I leave for the States. "Johnny Bull" has now no gun ^[[Kok-e-ute]] gave it to "Bob" for An-kooting his sick wife - or rather while she was sick some weeks since. "Nance" (Kok-en-zahn) his wife are down with him as far as Ebierbings. The snow now quite soft - fast disappearing from the Sun side of the high land. Quite a little pond on S & west side of the vessel.

One year ago this Morning since I started on my sledge trip to Extreme Land S.E. from here - the land bet. Bay of Frobisher & this Bay. There must be muck open water near there & beyond for Water Sky is constantly in that direction. The mists that arise there while wind Southerly or Easterly are brought or driven over here making all one vast region of gloom.
Ebierbing not yet arrived.
This Morning an incident occurred wh. I will briefly notice here. After finishing my breakfast, I went up to the Galley in which were ^[[seated]] the Steward & Fluker who had preceded me in eating their morning meals. I said to the Steward as follows: Steward, I am greatly surprised at you for two matters that have just occurred! 'What's that?' asked the Steward at once. I replied: I am surprised that you exercise so little care in husbanding the provision of the ship when you know how your position requires that you should keep a careful look out for making all the saving you can.
