I am not having at any body's expense - that is any one having an intrest in the "George Henry ", my fresh meats meats I trade fro with the Innuits - on matters they give me fresh meats & I make presents to them of Shot, Caps, powder &c The small amount of Bread shared out to all of the G.H.'s [[strikethrough]] men [[/strikethrough]] Co. is all the present supply will admit. The portion allotted to me is the same as to each of the others - but for [[underlined]] mine, [/[underlined]] I have made as one making a thousand fold return; therefore I am under no obligations to any one having any intrest in this Ship. Yet I have feelings none the less thankful for what I know Mess. Williams & Havens & Capt. B. would do [[strikethrough]] ?for ?me [[/strikethrough]] & have prefered to do for me. These parties [[?were]] named would feel indignant at the treatment from one of their employees meted out to me to-day on board of the Barque "George Henry." I know my [[strikethrough] throwing [[/strikethrough]] giving the provision [[strikethrough]] I & ? [[/strikethrough]] the variety & amount of the essential & serviceable articles I did the last winter for the [[underlined]] preservation & sustenance [[/underlined]] of the "George Henry'"s Company, merits no such return as selecting the badly damaged Bread from the good & giving me as my share the former as done to-day. But this is using too much ^[[-quite too much]] precious proper for a [[underlined]] small [[/underlined]] matter - It is well I write for no other eye but mine. Thereafter as I read my [[?prunings]], I shall be sad [[? ?]] at some [[?]]
records made, & joyous at others. I wrote a letter to Capt. B to-day & sent it by Ebierbing who will take it direct to him when he starts from where he & Kood-loo have their tupiks. I sent Capt. B. by same hand a saddle of venison, a fine, large one that I traded for of U-garng - also sent him some 8 lbs [[underlined]] "Browned" [[/underlined]] Borden Meat Biscuit to be used by him as "Coffee". Capt. B. is a great hand for Coffee - & I take it that he will like it as well as I do - ^[[that is]] [[underlined]] very much [[/underlined]].

At hX-m30 Koo-jes-s e with his Tu-nuk-der-lien arrived from Oo-pung-ne-wing [[strikethough]]?[[/strikethough]] on a sledge drawn by 18 dogs. He says that he & Sharkey with their wives & effects got back to Oo-pung-ne-wing three days since that they were obliged to take the land as a basis for travelling considerable of the distance before reaching "Countess of Warwick's Sound" on account of the ice having been broken up & drifted away since my coming down. When K. & his wife arrived to-night I went upon deck & found that they were erecting a tupik intending to sleep there. Though my very soul burns at the outrageous treatment, I received at the hands of these parties, especially from K. yet I could no less than invite them to repose in the Cabin below on a Polar bear skin I spread down for them. They are now enjoying a nights rest within an arm's length of where I am. K. is "all Saints" in looks ^[[looks]], words & appearance but never again, I hope will I trust myself on another trip with him, his wife or "Jennie". K. says that "Sharkey" has gone down to Og-bier-seer-o-ping where Cap. B. & his men are with "Miner" (Innuit) & [[strikethrough]] crew [[/strikethrough]] Boat's crew. The Oo-pung-ne-wing Innuits have all removed from there (Oo-pung-ne-wing over to Twer-puk-ju-a. Said Innuits have killed [[strikethrough]] two [[/strikethrough]] 1 Kil-le-lu-yar (White Whale) since I came over. This whale shot by Shev-ek-koo since he (S) returned from his visit to the vessel. Miner has gone down with the purpose of getting "Susy" (Koo-on-le-arng) & taking her "to wife". It will be reminded that Koo-on-le-arng was one of my Boat crew on my Boat visit to the head of Bay of Frobisher last fall. She is a hard working [[strikethough]] [[?]] [[/strikethough]] woman. She it was that accompanied me when I found the 1st deposits of Sen-Coal on the Island Ni-oun-te-lik - the Coal the relic of Frobisher Expedition when at anchorage in "Countess of Warwick's Sound" in 1578.
