Transcription Notes:
This appears to be the partially opened front cover with the engraved dedication to Hall from George T Jones and Thomas H Newell. Hall named several geologic features "discovered" in his explorations after these benefactors. Page 586 of Hall's Book: Donors: "George T. Jones & Thomas H. Newell, Cincinnati, O., 2 blank journal books made of bank-note paper." Jones and Newell owned a bank note printing company.
