Morning sultry. Go to Dr Bromwells then to office & S.I. work over mail & Guppy. P.M. a severe storm of wind & rain does a good deal of damage in the park. Home, evening read.
Friday, May 29
Morning; go to the dentists but find him ill + go to S.I. A Mr. Mallalien of England & some ladies call. Work over mail & Guppy. Home, evening read.

Morning fair. Leave the Pinta with Capt. Couden about 9 A.M. for Silver Bay where we examine a number of ledges.  The Turner ^[[Liberty]] mine, the ^[[Silver Bay,]] Eureka, &c. returning to the ship about 8 P.M. after a busy day.
Sunday, June 2
Morning cloudy, at 9 A.M. with B. & P. take the launch to St. John Baptist Bay where coal has been reported. Find the rocks as usual in this region with no signs of Tertiary beds. Return about 5 P.M. Evening read.
Monday, June 3rd
Morning showery. B & P. go to Silver Bay with the Captain. Stay behind & write up notes. P.M. go ashore, see Dr. Groff, walk down to Indian river with Swineford, see Millmore, then come aboard. Capt Garforth of the Pheasant dines with us.
