Thursday May 7/96
Morning cloudy, cool. Go to see Dr. Bromwell, then to S.I. Attend to mail & clearing, work on Zittel. Home, evening read & work over Lang. 
Friday, May 8
Morning fair. Go to S.I. work over Zittel, send books to binder  Home, evening read.
Saturday, May 9
Morning fair. Go to S.I. work over Randolph shells and Zittel Home. Evening go to Mr. Burns' to meet Aldrich and the other paleontologists. Turns very warm.
Sunday May, 10
Morning hot. Go over to see mother who comes to lunch P.M. with her. Mr. Turner comes in to dinner. Evening Miss Hill calls and I see her home again

After lunch go ashore again, look the town over and go to see the mine under the court house. Come aboard at 4.30 Becker returns later. Evening read.
Thursday, June 13/95
Morning calm, cloudy. B. & P. go off to Douglas Id. The Topeka arrives with mail. Prof. Nash went overboard from the Topeka on the down voyage, probably suicide in a moment of irritation P.M. Go ashore, see Young & the Topeka people and call on John Bugbee. Go aboard at 4.30. Evening read.
Friday, June 14
Day fine & sunny. Morning write & post letters to mother, Sadie and Nettie. P.M. go ashore and interview Delany, Mellea & Sylvester in regard to Metlakatla and mines. Later go aboard, evening read.
Saturday, June 15
Day remarkably fine, clear. Write on
