Morning quite cold, fair. Go to bank, Treasury & S.I. Work on Coal Report. Home, evening so raw I remain at home & read.
Sunday Jan. 5
Morning cold windy. Go to Dr. & mother. Call at Rathbuns & home. Read proof &c. Evening Miss Castle, Dr. Palmer and Mr. Woodward call.
Monday, Jan. 6
Morning cold, go to S.I.  Work over coal report. Home. Evening read, Nettie goes to the Covilles to play whist

at 1.30 by Nickel plate road for Catskill N.Y. where I arrive Sept 17 P.M.  Nettie meeting me and then go up to Twilight Park.  Sept. 24. Go to New York with Nettie, spending the night at Mr. Whitney's.  Sept. 25 Go to Metropolitan Art Museum with Nettie and call on her aunt Clarke and Mrs. Anson G. McCook.  Have an attack of diarrhoea from severe change of weather and keep quiet on the 26 starting in P.M. for Boston by the Fall River line.
Friday Sept 27
Arrive in Boston and go to Dr Blakes house, taking my meals with Mrs McClellan.  See Sadie & mother.  Oct. 1st go down the harbor with Dr. Dwight to see the Almshouse &c.  Oct. 3rd leave by Fall River line for New York.  Oct. 4. Call at N.Y. Life & see Mr. Whitney, then to see Gar-
