Looking through Burpee's Seed catalogue I was much impressed with the beautiful illustrations of fruits, vegetables and flowers raised from Burpee's seeds. I thought: how proud I should be could I raise vegetables and flowers like the pictures, for I am quite a garden "fan". But I was skeptical. I decided these pictures merely represented the skill of the artist or lithographer and were impossible as far as the farmer or gardener were concerned.

Last year I gave Burpee's seeds a trial and had splendid results. This year my small vegetable garden is looking fine, while my flowers - Fordhook Phlox, balsam and President Harding sweet peas are simply superb. Neighbors and visitors declare that I have the most beautiful flowers they ever saw. From a monetary viewpoint I value my little garden at $100.00 I sold enough tomato plants alone to reimburse me for the cost of all my seeds; and after a day in the mines the healthful exercise of garden work in the great out doors, and the knowledge obtained of the beauty and mystery of plant life I consider invaluable. The wonderful growing qualities of Burpees seeds furnished the stimulus for my pains. I cheerfully attest the fact that "Burpees seeds grow."
