I never saw larger vines in my life but the fruit is no farther advanced than no. 10 97 planted in the open ground the last of apr. the vegetables are doing fine I think I shall have some prize squash from your jumbo seeds. [[strike]] [?] [[/strike]] I also started them in door they were the attraction of the neighborhood. which also gave me pleasure. my flowers are beautiful I derive much pleasure in giving them to friends and sending them to the sick. but the most pleasure has been in gaining my health by having out door exercise.
