FOR PRIZE CONTEST

General Hospital, Grand Island, Neb.
August 8,1924.

W.Atlee Burpee Co.,
Philadelphia,Pa.

Gentlemen:

In 1919 I built a bungalow in Oklahoma City on a plot 150 by 135. In 1921 I had to sell the property.

Thirty feet wide across the front I established a lawn of Fordhook Finest Grass. Separating lawn and garden was a continuous bed of Burpee seedling perennials.

Between division fence and drive, from front to garage, were trenched Burpee Blend Sweet Peas. Parallel, between drive and bungalow, were Burpee cannas. Garden walks were lined with Burpee snapdragons and asters, a magnificent collection of Fordhook gladioli and a glorious collection of Burpee dahlias.

In the vegetable garden were Golden Bantam corn, Blue Bantam peas, Matchless tomatoes, Glory peppers and other famous Burpee specialties.

Dealers said the place would not sell - priced too high, too far out, times too hard. A friendly agent showed the bungalow to six prospects. I took them through the garden. All wanted to buy and sale was made in five days.

A little pleasant labor and a few dollars worth of Burpee seeds supplied my family with choice vegetables and flowers, gave us free rent for two years and sold the property at an advance of $700.

Very truly yours,
