March 3rd 1882

Sir,
I have the honor to report for the month of February, 361 specimens (50800-51160) entered in the Materia Medica Section. They consist chiefly of Volatile Oils, Fluid Extracts and Pills. About 200 duplicate specimens of Crude drugs have been received in answer to a request that the quantity of many of those previously sent, might be increased. As these are merely added to the others in the jars, they have not been separately entered in the Catalogue.
A report on the Pharmacopoeias is in preparation and awaits information relative to Pharmacopoeia of Italy for its completion.

Very respectfully
J. M Flint.

Professor S.F. Baird.
Director of the U.S. National Museum
